The climate is second only to the Cote d'Azure in the number of sunshine hours recorded each year. The Charente has a warm temperate climate, which is apparently, caused by the gulf stream which runs up the coastal area (Charente-Maritime). - This is the region of blue skies and hours of warm sunshine! The people are warm, friendly and welcoming. This is also the heart of rural France and agriculture is still the main industry.
The Charente region is situated some 2 - 2.5 hours inland from the coast (La Rochelle). The countryside is undulating, with areas of beautiful Woodlands, Lakes and Pasture land. Wildlife is everywhere. Buzzards, Kites, Nightingales, Deer, Otters & Wild Boar are just some that can be seen and heard within close proximity to La Ferme D'Alba.
